In Beowulf the values admired by the Danes were community and bravery. The Danes show how community is a huge when Hrothgar says "... there he would dispense his God-given goods to young and old but not the common land or people's lives."(Heaney lines 71-73). This quotes significance is That the Danes are about happy about the progress of community and the effectiveness. The bravery showed by the Danes to consistently keep having parties in the mead hall for enjoyment even though there lives were in critical danger due to the monster Grendal.
The alliteration used in Beowulf was very well used for example, "blundering back with the butchered corpses (Heaney line 125). Also another example of alliteration is "will in their wood-wreathed ship." These quotes show the that using literary devices help bring more attention to that sentence or that paragraph and so on.
Kennings are literary devices that are also used in Beowulf for example, "a force of shield bearers." the quote is referring to warriors. Another kenning is "Hygelac's thane" This quote refers to Beowulf. The kennings used in Beowulf are very well used to bring attention to the story of Beowulf.
