Well if u haven't noticed I'm not in the same room as you I'm in a room full of freshman, English students and it is quite awkward since I don't know anyone. Well at least I'm getting my work done I suppose I think it would be more enjoyable if I was able to make a blog by using friends to inspire an idea to blog about.

Beowulf LRJ #1
Tyler Dixon

In Beowulf the values admired by the Danes were community and bravery. The Danes show how community is a huge when Hrothgar says "... there he would dispense his God-given goods to young and old but not the common land or people's lives."(Heaney lines 71-73). This quotes significance is That the Danes are about happy about the progress of community and the effectiveness. The bravery showed by the Danes to consistently keep having parties in the mead hall for enjoyment even though there lives were in critical danger due to the monster Grendal.
The alliteration used in Beowulf was very well used for example, "blundering back with the butchered corpses (Heaney line 125). Also another example of alliteration is "will in their wood-wreathed ship." These quotes show the that using literary devices help bring more attention to that sentence or that paragraph and so on.
Kennings are literary devices that are also used in Beowulf for example, "a force of shield bearers." the quote is referring to warriors. Another kenning is "Hygelac's thane" This quote refers to Beowulf. The kennings used in Beowulf are very well used to bring attention to the story of Beowulf.

Antigone Paper- Creon is Guilty
Tyler Dixon
Ms.Peifer
10 IB HR 5
In Antigone, Creon determines three fates including. When Creon creates a law that punishs the traitors of Thebes by disallowing them to have a proper burial. This indecent act was the reason for deathes of Antigone, Eurydice, and Haimon.
Antigone was killed for the fact of honor for her family. She buried the body of Polynieces so that his soul could be freed. "But if I’d allowed my own mother’s dead son to just lie there, an unburied corpse, then I’d feel distress. What going on here does not hurt me at all. If you think what I’m doing now is stupid, perhaps I’m being charged with foolishness by someone who’s a fool." (Sophocles 527-533). The significance of the quote shows that Antigone was right for burying the body of her brother, but Creon was to prideful to take change and admit to his wrong doing so in doing so he killed Antigone.
Eurydice committed suicide because of the death of Haimon which was caused by Creon. Creon if he did let go Antigone and not punish her another life would have been saved which was Haimon. Haimon tried to convince his father, Creon, to not punish her and admit to what he had done was wrong, but in not sparing Antigone's life Haimon kills himself, and in his committing suicide also Eurydice committed suicide.
Haimon committed suicide due to the fact that Creon could not find it in his heart to spare kin. Antigone's death created two others almost in a domino effect. If Creon would have listened to Haimon and saved Antigone the lives of Haimon and Eurydice would have not put into jeopardy. For example when Haimon is begging for Creon to spare Antigone, Haimon says, "Then she’ll die, and in her death kill someone else." (Sophocles 859). This quote signifies that if Antigone dies then another will also die which refers to Haimon.
Creon is guilty of causing the deathes of three people, all in which he loved and was his kin, which was dependant on Creon poor misjudgment and pride and in the end of the play Creon admits to being wrong, but he did not admit quick enough to save the people he loved.

LRJ #2
In Antigone, Creon displays his flaws numerous times. He put out a punishment for burying
Antigone's brother Polynieces. This flaw ends up ruining his life in the end of the play. He goes
against everyone to stick with the punishment he created. His son, Haimon, ends up killing
himself and Creon's wife also kills herself, because Creon makes honor a crime. Antigone also a
tragic flaw in an ironic sense. She goes against the king to bury her brother, which ends in
Antigone dying . Creon had her put to death for supposedly freeing Polynieces soul. Even Haimon also has a tragic flaw. Haimon was following Antigone, and because of love and distilled
grief towards his father, Creon, he kills himself, and even though it wasn't fair, it was still a flaw that sealed his fate. Several times, the blind prophet was using birds fighting as a symbolic meaning that people were going to die. Sophocoles also uses the image of birds fighting, to compare the bad intent of Creon. Anagrorsis, also known as is displayed by Antigone when she
realizes that she is going to die and her perception of what was right in her mind for burying Polynieces. In the end of the play Creon finally realizes what he did was wrong, and also in the end you feel pity for the outcome of his cruelty. Women in the story of Antigone are characterized very poorly. Creon says to Haimon "you girl struck fool." The significance of the quote shows that women are less than men, and they feel the need to use women as insults. This story compares to The Illiad and The Odyessy.

LRJ #1
Read all about it! Read all about it! Antigone had been accused of burying Polyneices. Creon decreed that people who took part of attacking Thebes would not have a proper burial, but apparently a well known source reported to king Creon that Antigone was caught in the action of giving a proper burial to Polynieces. When Creon found out about the situation he called Antigone for immediate questioning. When Antigone was accused of burying Polynieces she neither confirmed or denied the burying of Polynieces. Creon soon after called Ismene for the fact he believed that both sisters took part in breaking the of his own accord. Find out next time to find out Antigone's fate and her sisters Ismene, or will Creon change his way and release his relatives.

Blogisimo
My experience with blogging is very limited I have never created a blog, but i have read various blogs because of my curiosity towards other peoples problems which may be a little entertaining. The main reason I have not published a blog is because of my lack of interest on the topic. I am quite excited to be given this chance to become familiar with blogging and all the other features that are apart of blogging.
